Thank You Cards – Saying Thank You to Your Guests for Their Attendance at Your Wedding
Should I send them?
This is a personal choice and some modern brides feel they’re not necessary. If you do not want to send thank you cards in the post consider putting them out at the tables along with your wedding favours. You may even choose to double up and have wedding favours with little notes inside thanking the guests for their attendance. Both these options will save you postal costs.
Budget constraints maybe why you don’t want to send them. Instead send them to just your close family and guests which had to travel from out of town. You may also want to consider age, some of your younger guests may not expect a thank you card.
When should I send them?
It is recommend that you send your thank you cards out within 2 to 3 weeks of you returning from your honeymoon.
What type of card should I choose?
Most brides will choose thank you cards that coordinate with their wedding invitations, although this is not strictly necessary. To save on costs choose simple thank you cards or even blank cards as these are usually cheaper. If you are wanting the personal touch you should hand write them. However, for larger weddings this can be time consuming and impractical. If you are having a big wedding we recommend that you consult a wedding stationer.
