Wedding Stationery – Things to Check Before You Purchase Yours
First thing to check is the actual cost of your wedding stationery. Do they have standard set charges or is it a bespoke service where the price varies? If it is a bespoke service make sure they give you a written quote before work commences. The stationer might charge extra for certain services, for example raised ink printing or embossing.
Is there a charge for proofs? Most email proofs are free of charge, however, you might be asked to pay for card or fax proofs.
Will your guest names be printed or will you need to write them yourselves? Most stationers won’t print your guest names inside your wedding invitations, however, some do for a fee. Check if they offer this service and the cost involved. Tip: If you don’t wont to write out your guest names, pick a wording that doesn’t use names.
Are reply cards supplied with your wedding invitations? Generally speaking you will need to purchase these separately. However, with pocket-fold invites the cost of the reply cards are usually included in the price. But always check with your supplier before ordering.
How long does it take for delivery? Most wedding stationers will take at least 2 weeks to print and finish your stationery. Some can take 6 – 8 weeks. If you are in a rush check whether they operate an express service. For an extra fee some will print and deliver your order within 48 hours.
What are the delivery charges? Is it a standard price or does it vary depending on the cost or the weight of your order.
Are there any discounts available? Some stationers will offer you a discount off the recommended retail price, sometimes this can be up to 20%. You might have fallen in love with your perfect invites but don’t be too hasty. You might be able to buy the same wedding stationery from another supplier at a significantly lower price.
