Part 3. Deciding What Wedding Stationery You Need
We will start with the most obvious, wedding invitations. Every couple needs to send wedding invitations, although you do not need to go down the traditional route. If you are looking for an eco-friendly way you might want to email your wedding invite.
You may want to include a RSVP card with your wedding invitations, although this is optional. If you are not including one make sure your clearly indicate on the wedding invite where your guests need to RSVP to and by when.
Some couples also choose to send Save the Date cards. These can be very useful for guests coming from further a field as it will give them extra time to make travel arrangements. For local guests just sending a wedding invitation should suffice unless your wedding is to be held during a popular holiday season. If this is the case it maybe advisable to send a Save the Date card to all your guests.
If you are having a religious ceremony you will require an Order of Service. This should clearly show your guests how the service will proceed and what hymns will be sung. Your priest or religious leader will be able to give you advice on it’s layout. If you are having a Civil Ceremony you may choose to have an Order of the Day. An Order of the Day will include when the ceremony will take place and the rest of the day’s events.
A Table Plan is essential for larger weddings. You may get away with just having place cards at smaller receptions. As the guests can just take a quick look round the tables to see where they will be sat. However for a larger wedding this could be awkward and time consuming for your guests, therefore a Table Plan is recommend. Your Table Plan will allow your guests to easily see where they will sit and hopefully allow them to be seated quickly and without too much fuss.
When designing your Table Plan remember that Couples should be seated on the same table along with their Children, unless there’s a special Childrens’ table. Try to seat your guests with other guests that you know they get along with. And try to remember which guests, if any, do not get along. It is a good idea to plan this as a couple and also get your close family members to assist.
Menus can also be printed to coordinate with your wedding theme. One can be placed on each table or one per guest. Menus include the food courses but can also include what speeches will take place.
Wedding Blessings are similar to an Order of Service. They are often used when couples marry abroad and want a blessing after their return. As with an Order of Service your priest of religious leader will be able to assist you with it’s layout.
